Yesterday, we discovered that Maggie has figured out a way to escape from her crate.
The casualties:
1 aquarium pump
1 wine cork
1 pair of blue rubber gloves, now missing a total of four fingers (should make for some colorful yard clean-up)
1 candle
4 pinecones and various dried leaves and berries surrounding a candle
2 bowls of cat food
For her next trick, she removed a wine coaster from under a bottle of wine, took the foam rubber coaster from inside and licked off any wine that might have soaked in. There are also doggie nose smears all over the bottle itself. Somehow the bottle did not roll off the counter ... nor did it spill.
Leave it to me to have a dog that's a wino.
After her efforts to get some wine failed, she decided to settle for water and left muddy little paw prints all over the bathtub, where she presumably tried to lick up any remaining condensation from our morning showers. Oh, and danced around it it too.
How can you not laugh at this? Maybe if she had actually damaged something valuable ... or, god forbid, if she had destroyed that bottle of wine ... but we mostly shook our heads in exaperation.
D's at home right now reinforcing the crate. I'll let you know how that turns out.
