My parents came for the day for a visit. We haven't seen them since mid-January and they (or at least my mom) will be taking care of Liam in a few weeks when the next kid makes its appearance.
The weather was beautiful and since spring came so early we decided to take them to Lilacia Park in Lombard. Readers of the blog of record might remember it from when I was pregnant with LD. Usually, everything is blooming there at the end of April or beginning of May ("everything" being a ton of varieties of lilacs and tulips). But since tulips are up everywhere around here, we thought we might see those. Not only were the tulips up and out, but the daffodils and hyacinths were, too, and a surprising number of the lilacs were blooming.
We walked around the park for awhile, taking it all in, having a nice family outing, enjoying the day and the smells of some of our favorite flowers.
On our way out, we strolled past a man pushing a young woman in a wheelchair. She was wearing a dress and nice shoes and her hair and makeup were perfect. He would push her a little ways, then stop to take a picture of her in front of some of the flowers. How nice, right? He was clearly taking his girlfriend (whom he obviously adored) out on a beautiful day. As we got closer, though, we realized that something was very, very wrong.
His girlfriend looked ... weird. Weird in an Angelina Jolie way. Her skin was a little too perfect, her hair was clearly a wig, her ... OH MY GOD. The woman was not a woman, but a rubber sex doll.
What the hell? Who takes their sex doll to a park on a sunny Sunday afternoon? Who then stops to take pictures of her?
And it was a really nice, top of the line wheelchair, too.
So bizarre.
